Neuropsychology
Neuropsychology is the specialty that examines how brain functioning relates to thinking, emotion, behavior, and everyday performance. At Aether Brain Health, neuropsychological services are central to our practice and inform both assessment and treatment planning across the lifespan.
We use comprehensive, evidence-based methods to understand how factors such as neurological conditions, injury, mental health, sleep, stress, and medical history affect cognitive and psychological functioning. Our approach integrates clinical interview, standardized testing, and contextual understanding to provide meaningful, individualized insights—not just test scores.
A neuropsychological evaluation is a detailed assessment of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning designed to clarify strengths, identify areas of concern, and guide effective intervention. Evaluations at Aether Brain Health are conducted using validated, standardized instruments and are tailored to the individual’s referral question and goals.
These evaluations may support diagnosis, treatment planning, academic or workplace accommodations, recovery monitoring, or long-term health optimization. Findings are translated into clear, practical recommendations that extend beyond the evaluation itself—supporting real-world functioning, informed decision-making, and sustainable outcomes.
Therapy
We offer individual and group therapy. We believe there is healing that is best done collectively while there is also the need for space for individual attention to life’s details. Our therapists are certified in evidence-based practices with a theoretical foundation in Gestalt and Existential Psychotherapy. In existential therapeutic approaches context matters and patterns are addressed in real time for maximum impact.
Therapy Type (Modality)
Gestalt therapy is a present-focused, experiential approach that emphasizes awareness, authenticity, and personal responsibility. At its core, Gestalt is relational—it sees the therapeutic relationship itself as the primary context for healing. Rather than focusing only on symptoms or past events, the therapist and client work together in real time, exploring thoughts, feelings, and patterns as they meet in the “here and now.”
This relational work allows clients to become more aware of how they connect with themselves and with others. In Gestalt therapy, growth happens through dialogue, shared presence, and genuine connection—making the therapeutic process not just about insight, but about practicing new ways of being within a safe and supportive relationship.
All of our therapists are trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which provides a strong foundation in evidence-based methods for behavioral change. However, we don’t stop there. While CBT is effective for addressing patterns of thought and behavior, we believe that seeking deeper, transformative work requires more than symptom reduction. From an existential perspective, therapy invites a profound exploration of meaning, awareness, and self-understanding—opening the door to lasting change that continues to unfold well beyond the therapy room.
Triggers are not merely behavioral patterns to be suppressed or eliminated—they may also be signals from parts of ourselves that long to be seen, acknowledged, and understood. Rather than pushing them away, we invite these parts into the present moment with curiosity and compassion. Allowing all aspects of the self to show up, even the ones that feel uncomfortable, can open the door to unexpected healing and deeper integration.
Cognitive Monitoring
At Aether Brain Health, we believe cognition should be tracked as part of our overall health and wellness. Without a baseline, early changes in memory, attention, or processing speed often go unnoticed until they affect daily life or high-stakes decisions. Our cognitive monitoring program provides ongoing, personalized tracking so you can be compared to yourself over time—allowing for early detection, timely support, and long-term brain health.
We have developed a dedicated Cognitive Monitoring Program to protect long-term brain health and support those in high-stakes professions. This program is designed to track how cognition changes over time, offering a proactive way to detect shifts early and intervene effectively.
Too often, individuals need a cognitive assessment but lack a baseline—no clear picture of how their brain functioned before injury or years of exposure. Just as hearing or vision are routinely checked, cognition should be monitored with the same consistency and care. Memory, attention, learning ability, and processing speed are not only vital for daily living, but also mission-critical for those who must make rapid, life-saving decisions.
By comparing you to yourself over time, our program allows for true early detection. While the broader healthcare system does not yet provide routine, efficient methods of cognitive tracking, Aether has built a system of cognitive surveillance to fill that gap—ensuring your brain health is supported with the same vigilance as every other vital function.
